Official sports betting is still very new to the SuperMotocross League, and they seem to be slowly rolling out new options as the season progresses. With the updated odds being posted for round 4 this weekend in Glendale, there are also a few new types of bets that are available this week. In past weeks, the bets were primarily on who would win the season and who would win the week. The first additional option they brought out was the over / under finish, in which you were choosing whether a rider would place better or worse than the number posted by the sports books. In this case, let’s say the line was 2.5 for Eli Tomac; he would need to place first or second if you bet on the over and third or worse for the under. The bets that are available to you seem to be based on which app you are using and what state you are in while placing the bet. As an example, while in Illinois, DraftKings has the most options, but when in California for the opening rounds, it was the opposite. The Underdog Fantasy app was the better option.
This week for Glendale, there are two new styles of bets that are listed. The first is whether a rider will finish on the podium. Pretty straightforward, if you bet on Ken Roczen to podium he just needs to finish third or better. I posted a screenshot below that I took from DraftKings app while in Illinois. I’m not sure if Underdog Fantasy will offer podium option as it was not listed in my state.

The next new type of bet is called Head-to-Had matchups. As of right now the odds maker will post Matchups between pairs of riders and assign odds against them. They are trying to group riders that typically finish in close proximity to each other, as it would be too easy to pick a winner of the matchup if they paired Eli Tomac vs Grant Harlan as an example. These matchups are taken from the NXTbets website as I did not see the option in the DraftKings or Underdog Fantasy apps in my state.
