Chase Sexton to miss the Hangtown round

Team Honda HRC announced that Chase Sexton will sit out round two of the Pro Motocross series this weekend . The Hangtown Nation takes place in Rancho Cordova, California. Chase had a crash in testing during the week at a multi-team test at Fox Raceway. Sexton finished second overall in round one at the same raceway just a few days earlier, earning him second place in the season points also after just the single round of the 2023 season. The fall left him with a concussion and was also diagnosed with mono. He spoke with the team and the decision was made to take some time off to get healthy and the return date is open as of now.

I’m super-bummed to miss this weekend’s race. I feel like I rode well at Pala, and I was really looking forward to Hangtown because it’s a good track for me. Unfortunately, I was already pretty banged up from my qualifying crash on Saturday, and now with mono and Tuesday’s concussion on top of it, I want to do the right thing and hopefully be back on the track soon.
