Colt Nichols signs a deal with H.E.P. Motorsports Suzuki

After the surprising news that Colt Nichols and the Beta team had parted ways, it was an immediate rumor that he would be signing quickly with the H.E.P. Suzuki team. It did not take long and we will see Colt race the yellow bike soon. Hopefully, he gels better with the team and bike as Colt did not perform up to his standards on the Beta and surely he was not happy with those results.

Brea, CA – (July 15, 2024) – Suzuki Motor USA, LLC and Pipes Motorsports Group, LLC announce that Colt Nichols has joined the H.E.P. Motorsports Twisted Tea Suzuki team for the remainder of the 2024 Motocross season, leading into the 2024 SuperMotocross Playoffs and have a mutual extension option in place to race on the team for 2025.

As a former 250SX West Champion and the 2023 AMA 450SX Rookie of the Year, Nichols brings extensive talent and experience to the Twisted Tea Suzuki team. Everyone is eagerly anticipating Colt's debut with Suzuki at the upcoming AMA Motocross Unadilla National on August 10th, 2024.

“I’m very excited to be joining the H.E.P. Suzuki team.” said Nichols. “It’s pretty cool to get to sign in 2024, get some races under our belt this year, iron out a few things and hopefully come into 2025 swinging. I’m very happy to be a part of the team and am grateful for the opportunity to get to work with the staff and the bike to get this whole thing figured out.”

Colt will join teammates Shane McElrath and Kyle Chisholm to finish out the 2024 championship season.

“The team is thrilled to have an athlete of Colt's caliber join the team,” said Dustin Pipes, Team Principal of the Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Motorsports/Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance team. “Being a former Lites Champion, Colt has the talent and pedigree to race his Suzuki RM-Z450 to great results. In the short time we have worked together, Colt has been very insightful and contributory on how to improve the motorcycle as we progress throughout this partnership. I look forward to seeing Colt on the starting line.”

“We are looking forward to Colt joining the H.E.P. Motorsports program and aligning his talents with our organized structure,” said Chris Wheeler, Motorsports Manager, at Suzuki Motor USA, LLC. “This is an exciting development, and the collaboration will undoubtedly help us maximize his potential and achieve great results on the track.”

Suzuki and Pipes Motorsports Group, LLC are eagerly anticipating an action-packed weekend of racing at round eight of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, the 2024 Washougal National in Washougal, WA.
