Jorge Prado officially signs with Team Kawasaki

It has been widely rumored and reported on for a long time now, and the wait is no more. The Monster Energy Kawasaki Team has announced that Jorge Prado has signed with the team. He will be running number 70 on the bike and will be competing in the full SMX season. No news yet on how long the contract is for, but I will update this when news comes out. The 450 class has been incredible the last few seasons and will only get more interesting with Prado in the mix each weekend. He looked very impressive in the few rounds of Supercross he did early in the 2024 season with minimal time in the racing discipline.

Plenty of questions we hope to get answers to early into the season. Will he be able to replicate his amazing starting success he had in MXGP and can he contend for podiums in his first full season? He is a four-time champion in the MXGP series with two titles in MX2 class and reigning back-to-back champion in the premier MXGP class.

Coming to America to race Supercross, Motocross and the Supermotocross World Championship with Monster Energy Kawasaki is an incredible opportunity. I’ve always admired the level of competition here, and I’m excited to challenge myself against some of the best riders in the world. This is a new chapter in my career, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got, representing a legendary factory like Kawasaki. The passion and intensity of the fans here is unmatched, and I can’t wait to experience that energy.
