Lawrence and Barcia updates after St. Louis crash

The racing in St. Louis this past weekend for round 12 of Monster Energy Supercross was intense and action-packed. There was plenty of clean racing and self-inflicted crashes, but the racing incident between Justin Barcia and Jett Lawrence split the fans in two. Many felt it was a racing incident and Justin did not have the intention of hitting Jett like that while others think he has a history of that and count him guilty without further thought. I tend to think it was just a racing incident and a case of being extra aggressive on the opening lap when adrenaline is at its highest and everyone is close to each other. The Honda team released a brief update after the race that Jett was sore but was not sure if there was any serious damage and that he was being evaluated to see if there was anything broken or damaged.

Today Justin released a short video on Instagram explaining that it was a racing incident and that it was not his intention to hit Jett like that. It was dangerous to both of them and affected both of their positions in the race results. The two spoke on the field after the race and seemed to part with no issues. Barcia also mentioned he went over to the Honda pits after to apologize and that while no one was happy there were no accusations after the discussion.
