ATVMX Final Round at Loretta Lynn’s

This past weekend, the final round of the 2024 ATMX season was wrapped up, and it was a season of ups, downs, and history being made. The year started out at Daytona and we unfortunately lost Chad Weinen for the season due to a crash. We got to watch the continued development of several new riders throughout the season. The brightest of them appears to be Bryce Ford on the #4 machine. He finished the year out in second place on points at 91 points behind Hetrick and a solid fourth overall at Loretta’s. Ford got a number of good starts through the season and was able to run a few laps out front and then a bucket load of laps in second place getting to follow and learn from Hetrick. Everyone should be excited about what the 2025 season might bring and see if Ford is able to take another step forward and be a solid contender for overall wins and pressure for points lead also.

The Joel Hetrick season can only be described as perfect which it was. This is the first perfect season in the history of the ATVMX series which makes it an even more impressive accomplishment. We were able to cover three rounds in this season and got to see Joel perform on vary different tracks and conditions. He did not get the best starts at the rounds we were at, but that did not stop him from riding mostly error-free, consistent, and steadily moving forward to claim each of those moto wins. He proved he could do this whether out front or working through the field and it looked like only a bike issue would stop him which luckily the Phoenix Racing Team did a masterful job in keeping the Yamaha running perfectly.
