SuperMotocross announces official replica jerseys for sale

When attending SuperMotocross (SMX) races you tend to not see a lot of jerseys in the audience. You will see a couple of people wearing their own, but you wont see legions of fans wearing the jersey of their favorite team or player as you do in traditional stick and ball sports. This is about to change as the SMX Championship will begin to sell these replica jerseys at all SX and Pro Motocross races this year and online at smxjerseys.com.

SMX has partnered up with Lucid Manufacturing the company behind Canvas MX to make these pro replica jerseys. There will be some revenue sharing between with the teams and athletes, we presume to help with the long complaints about not being able to sell merchandise at races. Not sure how meaningful it will be for the average privateer as it would be most valuable to them, but with no effort anything helps I guess. Would love to see the promoters of both series to sell other merchandise in their stands from privateers also, giving more variety to merchandise available. The site already has 20 athlete jerseys available and will continue to add more as they become available.

Official replica jerseys are a staple of every major sports league and professional sports team but has been challenging in SMX to bring to market due to the sheer number of licensees needing to be involved in the process. The industry-wide collaboration of this initiative will pave the way in standardizing the pro replica jersey business for SMX athletes, teams and gear companies moving forward as they will all share in this new revenue stream.
