ATV Motocross Round 10 at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch 2023 Race

The end of the 2023 season is here and all racing and activities were wrapped up this past weekend at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. It’s been a busy couple of weeks at the ranch with the Amateur Nationals for motocross hosted the previous week. The ATV National championship points race was wrapped up early by Joel Hetrick but there was still a battle between Chad Wienen and Bryce Ford for second place in the points race. This helped keep the excitement up along with the Lorettas round being a fan favorite with lots of history and nostalgia to add to the excitement.

It looked like the weather was going to cooperate with racing as the previous week was filled with rain delays and ultra muddy conditions. Some rain before Friday made for a typical muddy track for practice day, but nothing to worry about. With only a small chance of a light shower on Saturday predicted everyone felt good about racing conditions. Well, mother nature had other plans as practice and the first couple of motos went off as expected before a 20-minute monsoon erupted bringing racing to a halt. After the short delay and some track work racing restarted with a few modifications. The track would be shortened as storyland was flooded and was cut out alone with the billboard section for the pros.

Pro Class

While Joel had firm control of the points lead for most of the season, Chad and Bryce grabbed a few overall wins limiting Joel to 7 of the 10 weekend overall finishes. The was some great racing on this final round with Chad and Joel splitting moto wins and Chad grabbing the weekend overall with a 2nd and 1st place finishes. The mud likely played into the moto 2 results with Chad getting in front of Joel and holding strong in the muddy conditions.

Pro Am Class

The Pro Am Class is filled with the potential stars of tomorrow as the natural stepping stone for many as they work their way toward the Pro class. This season saw some great competition for wins within the class with four different riders capturing overall wins this season. That makes for interesting and exciting racing as you never know who could step up or repeat each weekend. This great parity also meant a close points race with just thirteen points separating first and third place.

Overall Points Standings

  1. Mason Jackson

  2. Kevin Saar

It will be a long off-season now for ATV fans with the exception of Quadcross of Nations being the next thing to look forward to until the start of the 2024 season. Get the full 2023 season’s official points standings here.
