There is a long history that has reached urban legend status around the injury curse that has plagued the Pro Circuit Kawasaki race team. After just two rounds of the 2025 Supercross season, the West Coast roster for the team has seen multiple changes and now an injury. As it stands the team will have only a single rider to line up for Anaheim two this weekend without another change or addition. Ty Masterpool had a hard crash in San Diego and had to withdraw from the main event but was not ruled out of the next round until today.
Ty was originally a member of the East Coast squad for PCR Kawasaki but moved west just last week to fill in the spot that Levi Kitchen vacated. After an illness at round 1, Kitchen was moved to the East Coast rounds, and Masterpool was moved to fill in the vacancy. Unfortunately, Ty got injured in the first round after the move, and it is likely to keep him out for multiple rounds, per the team’s press release. Steve Matthes mentioned on the Racer X Review Podcast that he saw Masterpool in a soft cast after the race.
