AMA Arenacross by Kicker Madison 2023 Round 3
The second weekend of the 2023/2024 AMA Arenacross series entered Madison Wisconsin and took over the Alliant Energy Center. This would include round 3 on Friday for the Pro points series and Saturday hosting the Pro Am class and a full day of amateur racing. The stands were full of loud fans and the pits were packed with races. The weather was very average for the midwest in early December making it nice to get indoors for some bar to bar racing. Fans were loud and interested in every race that took place on both days. I would even feel safe saying some of the loudest cheering of the weekend was for some of the amateur races.
Pro Racing
The pro field was strong and deep for round 3 of the series with 36 entrants taking gate drops. The heats went mostly as expected with Peters, Breece, and Bitterman all winning their heat races and advancing directly to the mains. There was some great racing in the places behind them with tightly contested battles for the coveted second place that advances right to the main also. Chandler Baker (350) just missed advancing from the heat race and LCQ, but ended up redeeming himself by winning the B main. The second main race saw Peters pass Breece for the win in the final corner just feet before the finish line making for a huge come from behind win.
Pro Results
Kyle Peters - 1-1
Kyle Bitterman - 2-4
Jared Lesher - 3-5
Amateur Racing
Amateur racing had a strong showing on Saturday at AMA Arenacross with the pits full and rumbling with excitement. Saturday was the Pro Am day in Madison with a full day and night of amateur racing alongside the Pro Am class under the lights. There are classes for every level of racing from stacyc for those just getting started and them from 50cc to Pro Am and everything in between. The day was filled with track walk, practice, amateur heats and part of the amateur main events. The evening event would include opening ceremonies and showcase a number of amateur main events alongside the Pro Am class. All the classes race the same track with the exception of the Stacyc riders that use just half of the track to keep it safe for the skill level of the riders and performance of the electric bikes.
As expected there was a strong showing of riders from the midwest region. We saw a lot of the podium positions in classes occupied by these midwest riders, which is great as when it gets cold up north theres not many opportunities to practice or race. A few amateur racers to highlight with their results are listed below.

The series takes a break over the holiday and resumes back racing in January on the 5th in Loveland Colorado with a two day Pro and Pro Am weekend.
