GT Arenacross Outlaws - Memphis, TN February 3/4, 2023

The weekend of February 3rd and 4th brought rounds 14 and 15 the final rounds of the GT Arenacross outlaw series to Memphis, TN. By this point in the season, the championship standings were pretty locked in bearing any crazy circumstances. There were two days of racing at the Showplace Arena with amateurs practicing and qualifying each day. The final rounds of racing started off with lots of action. The dirt and track were great which made from some excellent racing. Along with the racing, the intermission show with Cowboy Kenny and The Wheelie King providing the entertainment to keep the fun going.

Friday Night results

When Friday night rolled around Hicks had a commanding points lead looking to put the final nail in the coffin to cement his fourth straight title. The heat races were filled with excitement seeing Alessi grab the top podium spot in the 250 race. Hicks was right behind charging hard with Gordon trying to reel them both in. Mike’s usual fast starts allowed him to fight for the lead in both of the pro mains.

Saturday Night results

With the championship locked up for the fourth straight season, we saw Michael Hicks head off to race Supercross in Houston on Saturday night. With Hicks absent we would be sure to see a fresh face on the podium tonight. The excitement was just as high and the stands were full. We saw Alessi top the podium in the 250 class again with Carter Biese grabbing the third spot and getting some more TV time. Both of the podiums were exactly the same on Saturday evening.

The weekend was the last of the season for GT Arenacross Outlaws and we saw Michael Hicks crowned as the champion again for the fourth year running. Just behind in second place was Mike Alessi and Carter Gordon in third place. The top racers in the series gathered to get their season trophies and smile for some photos.
